Education convention of Chittagong Archdiocese is held on 20-21 April 2017 in the Caritas regional training center. Parish priests, managing committee chairmen, principals, headmasters, and nominated Catholic teachers of missionary schools in the archdiocese in total 78 participated in the convention organized by the Archdiocesan Education Commission.
The convention is inaugurated by the Metropolitan Archbishop of Chittagong His Grace Moses M. Costa, CSC. The theme of the convention was: ‘My joy in parish through education apostolate’.

The archbishop presented keynote speech on the theme. Inspired by the presentation three Catholic teachers from St. Scholastica’s, Bro. Andre’s and St. Mary’s schools took part in panel sharing on theme ‘My joy in service through education’ right after the keynote address of the prelate.

The members from Bangladesh Catholic Education Board Dr. Bro. Harold Bijoy Rodrigues, CSC and Mr. Jyoti F. Costa presented papers on ‘The challenges of the missionary schools & administration’ and ‘Government gadgets and norms on education, our responsibilities’. Participants also took active part in open discussion on the presentations.

Senior teacher of St. Mary’s Junior School, Rev. Fr. Leonard C. Rebeiro- Parish Priest of Miriam parish, Diang presented panel speeches on topic ‘Human and moral formation in missionary schools: Challenges and responsibilities’. On theme ‘Education structure in Chittagong Hill Tracts’ another panel sharing took place with presentation by Rev. Bro. Sylvester Mridha, CSC- Headmaster of Don Bosco High School, Bandarban and Mr. Manik Willver D’Costa- Pastoral Coordinator of Chittagong Archdiocese followed by an open sharing and group discussion.

The convention ended by a session of personal reflection and the Eucharistic celebration consecrated by the Metropolitan Archbishop of Chittagong His Grace Moses M. Costa, CSC.
