Most Rev. Moses M. Costa, csc was announced as the 1st Archbishop of Chittagong on 2nd February 2017. This announcement came as a blessing and honor to ‘The Diocese of Chittagong’. The symbol of an Archbishop is called ‘The Pallium’ which is handed over to the Archbishops by The Pope. Archbishop Moses M. Costa, csc received this Pallium from Pope Francis on 29th June 2017 at 1.30 pm (BD time) along with other new 35 Archbishops. A Holy mass was offered by His Holiness in front of the St’ Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City before the ceromony.
The imposition ceremony will be held on 8 September 2017 in Saint Placid’s High School, Chittagong where the Nuncio George Kochery (Pope’s delegate to Bangladesh) will formally impose the pallium on Archbishop Moses Costa, csc in front of the people of ‘Chittagong Archdiocese’.
