Catechist and prayer leaders training is held in FIAT Pastoral Center on 10-16 November 2021 for the catechists of 7 parishes in Chittagong Hill Tracts. Organized by the pastoral service team of Chattogram Archdiocese, the training program is participated by 35 catechists and prayer leaders from Bandarban, Thanchi, Bolipara, Lama, Alikadam, Rangamati and Khagrachory parish.
In the training program the essential part of the Catholic faith was discussed. Among the four principal parts from the book ‘Catechism of the Catholic Church,’ the first part, ‘The profession of faith (Apostles Creed)’ was briefly presented with the participants so that they can strengthen their faith and give more effective catechism in their respective areas.
Chattogram Archdiocesan pastoral coordinator- Mr. Manik Willver D’Costa; development coordinator- Mr. Mickey Paul Gonsalves; Financial Adminstrator- Fr. Pankaj Pereira; Assistant pastoral coordinator- Fr. Pronoy Anthony Gomes, CSC conducted the training sessions. Archbishop of Chattogram Most Rev. Lawrence Subrato Howlader, CSC were present in the training program on the final day. He shared a session with the participants and about the expression of our faithful life.
The training program was conducted in classroom method where all the participants were evaluated on each day’s lessons. Many co-curricular activities kept the participants concentrated throughout the training program. Certificates were distributed among the participants on the completion of the training.
