An ecumenical get-together on the occasion of Easter was held at the Archbishop’s House, Chattogram. 53 Christian believers participated in the event representing 14 Churches and 3 Ecumenical organizations.
The program was hosted by the Chattogram Catholic Archdiocesan Commission for Christian Unity and Inter-religious Dialogue and was Chaired by the Archbishop of Chattogram His Grace, Most Rev Lawrence S. Howlader, CSC. Founder & Principal of Bangladesh Theological Seminary & College Dr John Sarkar who is also the Pastor of Kalurghat Baptist Church and Pastor Ajoy Mitra of Calvary Baptist Church were present as the Guests of Honor.
Following the welcome speech of the dialogue commission coordinator Mr Ambrose Gomes, all participants introduced themselves and a prayer service took place. Director (Finance & Admin) Fr Pankaj Pereira led the worship song and then scripture was read from Lk 24:13-35. Dr Sarkar guided the participants in breaking the Word of God and the Pastor of Chattogram Cathedral Fr Regan Clement D’Costa sacrificed prayer with all.
Christians from different denominations took part in the spontaneous sharing of their faith and evangelization commitment which were very much heart-touching. The event ended with a fellowship dinner at the Archbishop’s House dining arena.
