Shitalpur is one of the Catholic Ward under the Cathedral Parish. Many Catholic families live there. Most of the people in this ward are labors in ship breaking yard or in other industrial factories. On 30 June 2017 Chittagong Archdiocesan Health Care Commission arranged a Health Awareness Program in Shitalpur where 120 people participated. Miss Magdaline Bairagi and Sr. Nita Rozario, csc discussed on general health awareness and health care techniques. They focused on the general health knowledge that can prevent dangerous diseases. Participants were very satisfied with the presentation of the resource persons. One of the participant Mrs. Monica said that many important information on health was given by the resource persons that can help her to take care of her family and herself as well.
