Lenten Seminar of Holy Childhood Association of Thanchi Parish is held on 4-6 March 2016 in Thanchi Parish in Chittagong Hill Tracts. Theme of the seminar was ‘Blessed are the Merciful’. From 9 villages under the parish, 306 children participated and assisted by 12 Children Animators and 15 YCS members. Sr. Runu Mrong, CSC and Mr. Probir Costa of Episcopal Commission for Youth Office conducted the seminar.
The seminar begins with the way of the cross. Assistant Pastor of Thanchi Parish Fr. Binoy Gomes, CSC shared on the objectives, goals and activities of Holy Childhood Society. Sr. Runu Mrong, CSC shared on the main theme. She used placards and action songs to present the theme children friendly. Parish Priest of Thanchi and Program Coordinator of PST-CHT shared on ‘Children help children’. He guided the children to pray and do charity works on everyday life.
A sick child could not attend the program. Fr. Bikash asked the present children to pray for him. During the prayer he called the sick child to let him know that other children are praying for him.
A festive rally took place on 6th March in Thanchi market participated by all the children. The event is closed by a special Eucharistic celebration for the children followed by a children cultural night.
