A reception program for high school graduates took place On Saturday, 12th May at 11.30 am in Bro. Andre High school premises, Noakhali. A total number of 227 SSC passed students from Bro. Andre High School participated in the program which was jointly organized by the Chittagong Catholic Archdiocesan Education Commission and Caritas Formation of Youth & Teachers Program (FYTP).
The participants took oath with lightened candles to generate a renaissance by their virtuous performances all over the world by the moral values, disciplines they taught from missionary school. The event got very much festive with the bit of Bro. Andre High School band, various country songs & dances.
From Chittagong St. Placid’s School & College, St. Scholastica’s School & College of Chittagong, Miriam Ashram High School of Diang, and from Bandarban Don Bosco High School nearly 150 selected graduates were supposed to attend this reception in Noakhali, but none of them reached due to huge traffic congestions at Chittagong-Dhaka highway. So they could not participated this long cherished reception program.
The reception program is presided over by the Archbishop of Chittagong Archdiocese Most Rev. Moses M. Costa, CSC. Vice- Chancellor of Noakhali Science and Technology University Prof. Dr. M. Wahiduzzaman was present as the chief guest and District Education Officer Mohammad Giasuddin Patowari as the guest of honor.
Most Rev. Archbishop addressed to the succeed students saying, “Students must be a generous attention and humble heart. In order to establish unity and fairness, efforts should be made to reach out to marginalized people. He urged everyone not to concentrate more on worldliness but to give spiritual attention.” Chief guest Prof. Dr. M. Wahiduzzaman said, “Currently parents and students are more interested in getting certificates than education. It can never be the only goal. The main purpose of education is to develop yourself and recognize yourself. Missionary schools is trying to teach disciplines and morality to the students which is more important than achieving highest results. Ideal education is to love, respect and serve the people. We believe that you will go the way of life with the ideology of the Church School and become the best man on earth.”
This year From 5 Church run high schools of the Chittagong Catholic Archdiocese, 842 students passed SSC exam. Among them 165 secured GPA 5.00 and average passing out rate from 5 high schools is 92%.
