A workshop on resource mobilization took place at Caritas Chittagong Regional training hall on 05 December 2016. It was organized by Caritas Chittagong to provide ideas and the key issues about the resource mobilization policy which will help to improve the resource mobilization capacity region wise and prepare a concrete action plan for future. This will allow for a diversification of risk and will ensure the effective implementation of critical programs that improve the lives of the beneficiaries. Selected staffs, executive board members, regional planning and evaluation committee members and representatives from Diocese of Chittagong participated in the workshop. The workshop began with a short prayer and self introduction of the participants. The regional director Mr. James Gomes explained the objectives of resource mobilization workshop in his opening speech.
Mr. Shuklesh George Costa, Senior Manager (Fund Raising), Caritas central office facilitated a session on `The key issues of the resource mobilization policy of Caritas Bangladesh’. After that the participants were divided for group discussion. The participants discussed on Identification of Regional Resources, Strategies and Challenges to maximize revenue, Potential Income Generating Projects (IGPs) for the Regional Office, which can be taken as ‘fair trade’ or ‘justice mode’ avoiding conflicts with the Catholic Social Teachings of Church and Caritas Values.
