The Noakhali Parish Youth Day 2026 was held at Noakhali Parish of the Chattogram Catholic Archdiocese with the participation of approximately 60 young people. The event was organized by the Youth Organization of Noakhali Parish in collaboration with the Chattogram Archdiocesan Youth Commission.
The day-long programme aimed to deepen the young people’s faith, strengthen their sense of responsibility, encourage their active participation in the life of the Church, and help them reflect on the journey of the Diocese of Chattogram as it approaches its centenary.
One of the main sessions of the Youth Day was on “Youth Responsibility and Participation in the Church.” The session was facilitated by Fr. Joy Joseph Quiah, Youth Coordinator of the Chattogram Catholic Archdiocese. In his sharing, he highlighted the important role of young people in the life of the Church, particularly in leadership, pastoral activities, and various forms of service. He also encouraged the youth to use their talents, gifts, and energy for the greater good of the Church and society.
Another significant session, entitled “The Journey and Vision of the Diocese of Chattogram in Its Centenary,” was facilitated by Sr. Momota Palma, LHC, Pastoral Coordinator of the Chattogram Catholic Archdiocese. She reflected on the historical journey of the Diocese of Chattogram, its present realities, and the potential role of young people in shaping the future of the local Church.
The programme was attended by Fr. Pankaj I. Pereira, Parish Priest of Noakhali Parish, and Mr. Gregory Gomes, Assistant Secretary of the Chattogram Archdiocesan Youth Commission. Their presence and encouragement added value to the celebration and motivated the participating youth.
Following the sharing sessions, the participants were divided into small groups for group discussions and sharing on the topics presented. Through these discussions, the young people reflected on their present roles and responsibilities in the Church, the challenges they encounter, and ways in which they can participate more actively and meaningfully in the life and mission of the Church.
The programme was further enlivened by the Chattogram Archdiocesan Youth Commission animators, who led the participants in various action songs. The young people enthusiastically joined the activities, creating an atmosphere of joy, fellowship, and active participation. A colourful cultural programme was also held, in which the participants took part in various cultural performances.
The day-long celebration concluded with the Holy Eucharistic Celebration. During the Eucharist, prayers were offered for the young people, and they were encouraged to grow as responsible, active, and faith-filled young members of the Church, committed to serving both the Church and society.
