Youth, Values, and Leadership: Chittagong Archdiocese Hosts Comprehensive SSC Training 2025

The Chittagong Catholic Archdiocese Youth Commission has successfully conducted the SSC Post-Christian Human Formation Training Course 2025 in two group, aiming to equip the youth with spiritual, moral, and mental guidance to strengthen their Christian values. The program brought together a total of 107 participants from various parishes across the Archdiocese.

The first group course was held from 24 to 31 May 2025 at Bandarban Parish, involving three parishes: Bandarban, Bolipara, and Thanchi. Fifty-four participants took part in this phase. The inauguration was led by Mr. Miki Paul Gonsalves, Youth Coordinator of the Archdiocese, who encouraged the participants to embrace the next stage of their lives with spiritual and moral preparedness. The course offered comprehensive discussions on the Holy Bible, the Holy Sacraments, Christian believes, marriage and family, career guidance, and other essential topics. His Excellency Archbishop Subrato Lawrence Howlader, CSC, actively participated to guide the youth. Creative competitions including wall painting, drama, debates, impromptu speeches, and general knowledge contests added vibrancy to the program. The closing ceremony celebrated the winners with awards and certificates, attended by distinguished guests including Vicar General Father Terence Rodrigues, Father Bikash Rabeiro, CSC, and Youth Coordinator Miki Paul Gonsalves. The first phase concluded with an engaging cultural program presented by the participants.

The second group took place from 31 May to 7 June 2025, gathering fifty-three participants from eight parishes and two quasi-parishes: Cathedral, Diang, Jamalkhan, Pahartali, Noakhali, Lakshmipur, Lama, Alikadam, Rangamati, and Khagrachoi. The inauguration was conducted by Father Bikash Ribero, CSC, who highlighted the longstanding tradition of the Youth Commission in shaping future leaders guided by Christian values. Similar to the first phase, the curriculum covered Bible studies, sacraments, Christian beliefs, family and marriage, career guidance, and other key subjects. Archbishop Subrata Lawrence Howlader, CSC, again shared his guidance with the participants. Creative competitions were held, with winners receiving awards and certificates during the closing ceremony. Distinguished guests included Father Sadhan Augustine Gregory, Director of Finance and Administration, Youth Coordinator Mr. Mickey Paul Gonsalves, Assistant Youth Coordinator Father Sumon Peter Costa, CSC, and Course Coordinator Mr. Flavian D’Costa. The second phase concluded with a vibrant cultural program organized by the participants.

Both training course provided valuable spiritual, moral, and intellectual enrichment for the participants. Organizers expressed their commitment to continue such initiatives, fostering the personal growth of youth and promoting Christian values within their communities.
