Christian Students’ Organization (CSO) of Cathedral Parish Celebrates 47th Anniversary and Reception SSC Graduates

The Christian Students’ Organization (CSO), a long-standing youth organization of Cathedral Parish under the Chattogram Archdiocese, celebrated its 47th founding anniversary in a joyful atmosphere. The anniversary celebration was held on 21 August 2026 at the Cathedral Parish Auditorium, with around 40 members in attendance.

The program began with a welcome address by CSO President Mr. Gregory Gomes. In his speech, he highlighted the organization’s long journey, the bonds of friendship among its members, and CSO’s role in nurturing young people in moral, humanitarian, and Christian values.

Fr. Regan Clement D’Costa, Chaplain of CSO, and Mr. Flavian D’Costa, Advisor of CSO, also addressed the gathering. They encouraged the present generation of members to uphold the organization’s rich heritage and achievements while strengthening its ideals and values. Former presidents, former members, and current members of CSO were also present at the celebration.

One of the highlights of the anniversary celebration was a discussion on the history and heritage of CSO. Mr. Aldrick Biswas, Convener of the CSO Founding Committee, shared with the members the background of the organization’s establishment, its 47-year journey, various activities, and significant memories and achievements. His discussion highlighted important chapters in CSO’s history and the contributions of generations of young people who have grown through the organization. The session helped current members learn more about CSO’s history and inspired them to contribute actively to its future activities.

The 47th anniversary of CSO was then celebrated with a cake-cutting ceremony. Former and current members exchanged greetings and shared joyful moments with one another. The presence of both long-standing members and members of the younger generation made the celebration lively and memorable.

Another important part of the program was the reception and certificate presentation for students of Cathedral Parish who successfully completed the SSC Examination 2026. The students were congratulated on their achievements and wished success in their future academic and professional lives. They were also encouraged to uphold moral and Christian values and to work for the well-being of society and the country.

The program concluded with an entertaining cultural program featuring songs, dances, and various performances by the members. The 47th anniversary celebration came to an end in an atmosphere of joy, friendship, and fellowship.

Throughout its 47-year journey, the Christian Students’ Organization (CSO) has played an important role in promoting Christian values, leadership, friendship, and a sense of social responsibility among the young people of Cathedral Parish. The anniversary celebration not only provided an opportunity to remember the organization’s rich heritage but also inspired the new generation of members to take a more active and responsible role in its journey ahead.
