A new Catholic chapel was officially inaugurated in Tindu, Thanchi Upazila, Bandarban, on July 30, 2026, marking a significant milestone for the local Catholic community. The inauguration ceremony brought together around 300 faithful, who gathered to celebrate the joyous occasion with prayer and thanksgiving.
The celebration was attended by Fr. Regan Clement D’Costa, Fr. Nicholas Nokrek, CSC, Fr. Shoikat Kolintunu, Fr. George Komol, Fr. Shudir Das, CSC, Fr. Shitol Rozario, CSC and Fr. Jerome Shoting, CSC, who joined the faithful in dedicating the new chapel to the service of God and the community.
The inauguration included the blessing of the chapel, prayers, and the celebration of the Holy Eucharist. The newly dedicated chapel will serve as a place of worship, spiritual growth, and pastoral ministry for the Catholic faithful in the remote region of Tindu.
Around 300 members of the local Catholic community, along with guests and parishioners from nearby areas, participated in the celebration, expressing their joy and gratitude for this new house of prayer.
The ceremony concluded with words of appreciation for everyone who contributed to the construction of the chapel and supported the successful organization of the inauguration. The occasion reflected the vibrant faith and unity of the Catholic community as they celebrated a new chapter in the mission of the chapel in Tindu.
