A conference on Rosary prayer was held at Noakhali Parish under the initiative of the Chattogram Archdiocese on the theme, “Journeying with the Immaculate Heart of Mary.” The conference, held on 14 August 2026, was attended by around 140 participants, including children, adolescents, young people, and faithful.
The main objective of the conference was to deepen participants’ understanding of the Rosary prayer and to encourage families to pray the Rosary together regularly, thereby strengthening unity, love, and mutual harmony among family members.
The conference featured reflections on three topics: “The Impact of Rosary Prayer on Family Life,” “The Fruits of Rosary Prayer in Personal Life,” and “Journeying with the Immaculate Heart of Mary.” The sessions were led by Mrs. Barbara Gomes, Member, Holy Cross Family Ministries, Chattogram; Fr. Pankaj Ignatius Perera, Parish Priest of Noakhali Parish; and Fr. Saikat Benedict Kulentunu, CSC, Director, Holy Cross Family Ministries, Chattogram.
During the sessions, the speakers emphasized that praying the Rosary plays an important role in strengthening unity and family bonds. They noted that praying together regularly enables family members to grow closer to one another and strengthens the bonds of faith and love. They also highlighted the importance of regular Rosary prayer in overcoming divisions and weaknesses within families and fostering greater unity.
The speakers further noted that purity of heart opens the way to spiritual and inner freedom. Therefore, they encouraged families to embrace the call, “Every evening, the Rosary in every home,” as an important practice in family life. They emphasized that such prayer gatherings and conferences can play a significant role in strengthening bonds among family members.
Riki Pinaru, a participant in the conference, shared his experience, saying that through participating in the conference on Rosary prayer, he came to realize how Mother Mary loves her children. He said that through praying the Rosary and remaining deeply connected with Mother Mary, one can experience her maternal love.
The conference concluded with an encouragement to deepen family prayer, unity, love, and devotion to Mother Mary, while fostering families as strong centers of faith and Christian life.
