A diocesan workshop on Finance and Admin is held in Chittagong cathedral parish hall room on 4th May 2016 with participation of 1 bishop, 15 priests, 1 religious brother, 6 religious sisters and 18 lay finance employees of the diocese.
The event is opened with a prayer service led by program coordinator of diocesan pastoral service team (PST) Sr. Nista Gagra, SSMI followed by an opening session. Mr. Mickey Paul Gonsalves, the secretary of PST moderated the day long event.
Bishop of Chittagong diocese Most Rev. Moses Costa, CSC presented a paper on ‘Morality and

Ethics on Financial Management’ followed by another presentation on ‘Administrative Structure in the Catholic Church’ by diocesan pastoral coordinator and acting financial administrator Mr. Manik Willver D’Costa. In his speech bishop Moses said, ‘Money should serve the people, but not rule. Human race is gradually being slaves of money and property. Money can’t talk, can’t hear, can’t act, but we are giving it privilege to rule over us! This is also a form of idolatry. Church should be very careful on its financial involvement and administration to avoid the new form of idolatry.”

Other sessions in the day were: open discussion on technical points of financial management and thorough instruction on accounts keeping. The event ended by reflection of the participants and word of thanks by the diocesan bishop.
