A special Marian devotion along with Mother’s Day was observed today at St. Joseph the Church, Lakshmipur. The solemn Mass began with an introductory significant word by Janika Finney, a student of Class VI, followed by Garlanding to the BVM’s portrait. The reflection was on the significance of the mother. After the communion, a middle-aged mother very briefly shared her feelings as a mother, while Plano Finney of class V offered a special prayer for all the mothers. The Mass ended with special blessings over the mother, followed by floral wishes & small gifts. The joy of the mothers was full to the brim.
After this, the Marian procession began with lighted candles in hand. The procession includes singing Marian hymns while reciting the 5-decade rosary in 5 places in the village. The village is so small, so the procession stepped over the whole village.
The double-filled program was well organized, & it nourished our spiritual & physical hunger. Thanks to Fr. Leonard for initiating & organizing such a unique program here, complimented by Purnima, a mother of a child.
