Cox’sbazar is the home to the most extensive sea beach in the world which made her a prominent tourist attraction in Bangladesh and abroad. Tourism is the main occupation for the people in Cox’sbazar. Numerous hotels, resorts and hotels are established there to cater for tourists throughout the year. Since the Rohingya influx in 2017, humanitarian agencies are largely operating in the area too. More than 250 Christians of different denominations from all over Bangladesh and abroad have been residing in Cox’sbazar for their profession in humanitarian agencies, hotels and restaurants.

Chattogram Archdiocese organized a praise and worship meeting in Hotel Seagulls Ltd. on 14th November 2022 which was participated by 120 migrant Christians in Cox’sbazar.
