Bolipara is a parish under the Archdiocese of Chittagong situated in the southern hill district of Bandarban. It is a four and half hour journey from Bandarban to reach to Bolipara parish established at the lap of hilly river Songkho. The area is very much remote in nature and home of around 3,200 indigenous Catholics scattered over 27 paras (hilly villages). The parish is being administered and nurtured by Holy Cross Priests and assisted by Our Lady of the Missions nuns.
Bolipara parish had its Parish Pastoral Assembly on 18-19 March 2018 which was chaired by the Parish Priest Rev. Hori Macario Das. The event was attended by 44 selected lay leaders of the parish. Archdiocesan Pastoral Coordinator Mr. Manik Willver D’Costa was the keynote speaker who preached the annual pastoral theme “Pilgrimage of faith in 500 years: Heritage- Celebration- Renewal” based on the
pastoral letter of Chittagong Holy Cross Archbishop Most Rev. Moses M. Costa. Head teacher of a local government school Mr. Satyamoni Tripura presented paper on “Importance and reality of education in Chittagong Hill Tracts”. Secretary of Chittagong Archdiocesan Pastoral Service Team, CHT office Mr. Khunthairoy Tripura accompanied the Pastoral Coordinator who addressed the assembly on “Pilgrimage of faith in Chittagong Hill Tracts”.
The two days assembly was moderated by the assistant pastor Rev. Nicholas Nokrek. Secretary of Pastoral Service Team, Chittagong office Mr. Jude Flavian Bala was present as the technical assistant to the Pastoral Coordinator.
