Pope Francis is coming to Bangladesh! The second pope to visit our country. A precious and historical event is at door for the Catholic Church in Bangladesh. In order to witness this historical event thousands of people will gather in Dhaka from all over Bangladesh. Every Diocese of Bangladesh is now preparing to make this event a memorable and successful one.
The preparation has also begun in Chittagong Archdiocese. A coordinating comity is formed to coordinate the participants from Chittagong Archdiocese. The first meeting of this comity is held on 19 September 2017 in the Cathedral Parish Hall Room. In the meeting Archbishop Moses M. Costa, csc was present. He said that Pope is coming with a message of peace and this visit is a blessing for the Catholic Church as well as all the people in Bangladesh.
Though there’s no responsibility for the diocese in the arrangement of the program but collecting and maintaining the participants of the respective dioceses will be a major task for the diocesan coordinating committees. Security will be a big concern and challenge for this visit and it will be handled with topmost priority. For this reason who are willing to participate in this program has to develop a mentality of pilgrimage and co-operate with the diocesan coordinating committees.
