In the Catholic Church, throughout the month of May special devotions are held honoring the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Jesus. In The Archdiocese of Chittagong, Marian prayer is held in the houses of the faithful throughout the month of May. Faithful gather in one another’s houses to devote Mary, Mother of Jesus.
This year newly installed archbishop of Chattogram, Most Rev. Lawrence Subrato Howlader, CSC offered the special mass in the Cathedral to mark the end of the Month- May. A Marian procession took place before the eucharistic which began inside the Cathedral and ended before the grotto of Mother Mary beside the Cathedral.
Archbishop Subrato said in his homily that we must seek courage and help from God through Mother Mary so that we can overcome these challenging times when Covid-19 pandemic and the different natural calamities are making our life difficult.
