The ‘YCS Seminar-2024’ was successfully organized by Bandarban Dharmapalli at Fatima Rani Church, drawing the participation of 77 students from classes 6 to 10 of Bandarban Dharmapalli.
The seminar commenced with an inauguration ceremony led by Father Binoy Sebastian Gomes, CSC, the parish priest of Bandarban parish, who lit candles to signify the opening of the event. Father Sumon Peter Costa, CSC, co-coordinator of the Chittagong Archdiocesan Youth Commission, was also in attendance, lending his support to the proceedings.
Sister Mary Shaoli, SMRA, initiated the seminar by providing an in-depth discussion on the history, background, goals, and objectives of the Young Christian Students (YCS) movement. Her presentation was followed by Mr. Flavian D’Costa, Secretary of the Chittagong Archdiocesan Youth Commission, who elaborated on the YCS methodology, the responsibilities of a student leader, and the procedures for student leadership and cell meetings.
The seminar culminated in a Holy Mass attended by the students, which was celebrated by Father Binoy Sebastian Gomes, CSC. The event was marked by a spirit of learning, community, and faith, contributing to the development of young Christian leaders in the region.
