The 150th Jubilee celebration of the Society of the Divine Word (SVD) Congregation was commemorated with great devotion and joy at Miriam Church, Diang, on December 13, 2024. The special occasion marked a significant milestone in the history of the SVD Congregation, bringing together its members, local faithful, and clergy for a day of prayer and reflection.
The Holy Mass was celebrated by His Excellency Archbishop Lawrence Subrato Howlader, CSC, the Archbishop of Chattogram Metropolitan Archdiocese. In his homily, Archbishop Howlader spoke about the immense contributions of the SVD Congregation to the church and society over the past 150 years, emphasizing the importance of unity, service, and dedication in spreading the message of Christ.
The event was attended by the entire SVD Congregation, including sisters, fathers, and brothers, as well as many local parishioners who filled the church to honor this momentous occasion. After the Holy Mass, a cultural program was going.
As the day concluded with prayers and fellowship, attendees left with renewed spirits, reflecting on the SVD Congregation’s legacy and its ongoing mission to bring light and hope to all corners of the world.
