News Contributor: Clement Lincoln Gomes, In-charge of FYTP, Caritas Chittagong

In Chittagong city area, Chittagong Catholic Archdiocese has 2 School & Colleges, 2 Junior High Schools, 3 Primary Schools for downtrodden children and 3 K.G. Schools operating by the archdiocese and religious congregations. A project of Caritas Chittagong called ‘Formation of Youth and Teachers’ Program (FYTP)’ is responsible for formation of teachers (Catholics and other faiths) in Church run schools. Every year the project organizes a Lenten Gathering for Catholic teachers.

The mentioned gathering of this year took place on Monday, March 26, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Oratory, St. Placid’s Brothers’ Residence, Chittagong. The event was conducted by Education Commission member and Vice Principal of St. Placid’s School & College Holy Cross brother Rinku L. Costa and FYTP in-charge of Caritas Chittagong Mr. Clement Lincoln Gomes. 93 Catholic teachers participated in the half a day gathering. FYTP project jointly with Archdiocesan Education Commission organized the program aiming to help the teachers to stress relief and enliven their teaching, presence, compassion, reflection, and inspiration – the inner resources they need to help students flourish, socially, emotionally, and academically.

Cathedral diocesan priest Rev. Regan Clement D’Costa. He presented conference on topics “Importance of Recollection, Reconciliation and Eucharist for Catholic Teachers”.

The seminar ended by a Eucharistic celebration sacrificed jointly by Rev. Regan Clement D’Costa, in-charge of archdiocesan Judicial Office Rev. Leonard C. Rebeiro and participating teachers.
