The Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Bangladesh, His Excellency Dr. Rüdiger Lotz, paid a courtesy visit to the Chattogram Metropolitan Archdiocese, 12 May 2026. The visit took place at the Archbishop’s House in Patharghata, Chattogram.

The ambassador was accompanied by a distinguished delegation, including Mr. Mirza Shakir Ispahani, Honorary Consul of Germany in Chattogram; Ms. Syeda Zarin Rafa, Cultural Secretary of the German Embassy; and Mr. Lokopriyo Barua from the Honorary Consulate in Chattogram.

Upon their arrival, Archbishop Lawrence Subrato Howlader warmly received and welcomed the Ambassador and his entourage. Following the reception, the delegation visited the historic Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Cathedral Church, where they observed its architectural heritage and religious significance.

During the visit, an information-based presentation was showcased to the Ambassador, highlighting the history, educational initiatives, healthcare services, and various social development projects managed by the Chattogram Archdiocese.

During the courtesy meeting, Archbishop Lawrence Subrato Howlader expressed his sincere gratitude to the ambassador for the visit. Ambassador Dr. Rüdiger Lotz highly commended the humanitarian efforts and the spirit of communal harmony fostered by the Archdiocese in the region.
