Likewise, every year the Post SSC Human and Christian Formation Course was held in Bandarban Hill Parish on 17-25 October 2022. Chattogram archdiocesan youth commission organized the event and participated by 64 SSC examinees waiting for the final result.
Students were taught in series of Christian and Human subjects before they enter into the bigger world of higher
studies. The subject areas of the sessions and the resource persons were ‘Salvation history & Holy Bible’- Mr Manik Willver D’Costa, Diocesan Pastoral coordinator; ‘Mobile phone using etiquette’- Mr D’Costa; ‘Profession of faith’- Fr Pankaj Ignatius Pereira, Diocesan Financial Administrator; ‘Sacrament of matrimony and Christian family’- Fr Pronoy Anthony Gomes CSC, Diocesan Asst. Pastoral Coordinator & Youth Commission Coordinator; ‘The new spirit and thoughts for a new day’- Bro Binoy Stephen Gomes CSC, prominent psychologist and counsellor; ‘Carrier guidance’- Mr Sandy Francis Peris, Lecturer
of University of Science and Technology; ‘Adolescence’- Sr Nita Rozario CSC, Senior Staff nurse & Dr Dipankar Dey, Doctor of Medicine; ‘Vocation in priestly and religious life’- Fr Sadhan Augustine Gregory, Noakhali Parish Pastor; ‘Synodal Church: Journey together’- Chattogram Archbishop His Grace, Archbishop Lawrence Subrato Howlader CSC.
The Youth Commission designed a series of activities like
extemporal speech, general knowledge quizzes, debate, exposure program, skit presentations, wall magazines, etc. to develop students’ latent talents. Jesuit Priest from Cox’sbazar Fr Jerry S. Gomes SJ conducted a recollection session on the last day to guide the students in spiritual understanding after which they received the sacrament of reconciliation. The learnings of each session were assessed in writing immediately after the session.
Chattogram Archbishop His Grace, Lawrence S. Howlader CSC celebrated the closing
Eucharist with the students and took part in the prize-giving and cultural ceremony on 24 October 2022.
