Education is one of the most important pastoral priorities of Chittagong Archdiocese. Presently the Archdiocese is running 2 colleges, 6 high schools, 4 Junior schools, 4 primary schools, 7 kindergartens and numerous village primary schools. After passing SSC examination every year thousands of students leave these schools with the oath of serving the society with all their good qualities and morals learnt from the school. The Archdiocese of Chittagong organizes a reception program every year for the successful SSC students from the missionary schools in order to remind this oath. This year the program took place on 11 May 2019 in Saint Placid’s School and College Auditorium.

The reception program was held for the Students of Saint Placid’s School and College, Chattogram; Saint Scholastica’s School and College, Chattogram; Miriam Ashram School, Diang; Bro. Andre’s High School, Noakhali and Don Bosco High School, Bandarban. Vice Chancellor of Chittagong University Professor Dr. Iftekhar Uddin Chowdhury was present as Chief Guest. Principle of Enayetbazar Women’s College Mrs. Tohurin Sobur was present as the guest of honor. Archbishop of Chittagong Most Rev. Moses M. Costa, csc presided over the program.

The program was decorated with colorful dances and mellifluous songs performed by the students of different missionary schools. Speeches from the guests provided valuable directions for the future life of the students. The students took oath with lightened candles to establish peace in the society. Then certificates were distributed among the students.
