Young Christian Students’ Movement’s animators of Chattogram archdiocese affirmed that YCS sees not just to see but to realize, judges, not just to judge by to feel and acts not just to act by to change during a diocesan animators’ training held in Bandarban FIAT Pastoral Centre during 18-21 June 2021. 23 animators from all over the diocese participated in the training program organized by the Archdiocesan Commission for Youth.

The training course began on Friday, 18 June evening with an inaugural Eucharistic celebration consecrated by the diocesan youth coordinator Fr. Pronoy Anthony Gomes, CSC. The inaugural session took place just after the dinner followed by self-introduction and assessment of the expectations from the participants.

On the following day, there were series of teaching on subjects ‘YCS in Christian formation and YCS spirituality’ by Fr. Pronoy Anthony, ‘roles and responsibilities of an animator’, and ‘tips for youth animation’ by the diocesan financial administrator Fr. Pankaj Ignatius Pereira. In the evening, the participants took part in a group discussion to ‘isolate the challenges to conduct a cell meeting’. The group discussion was assisted by the diocesan PMS director Sr. Zita Rema, SSMi and the youth commission member Sr. Mary Bridget, SMRA.

On Sunday, 20 June diocesan pastoral coordinator Mr. Manik Willver D’Costa conducted a session on the ‘YCS methodology and cell meeting’ which articulated the ‘review of life’ cycle. The participants took part in pre and post-session cell meetings to assess the learning. The vicar general Fr. Leonard C. Rebeiro was present during the afternoon session to deliver the ‘diocesan directives for the YCS movement’. Before the ending of the training, participants articulated their plan of action for their respective parish and school assisted by Fr. Pronoy Anthony.

The training ended with the closing Eucharistic celebration consecrated by Fr. Leonard C. Rebeiro and a certificate awarding ceremony. Diocesan assistant youth Coordinator Mr. Jude Flabian Bala was solely responsible to coordinate the training program.
