In this world often divided by conflict and uncertainty, more than a million children across the globe are being called to unite in prayer. The campaign, titled “A Million Children Praying the Rosary,” is organized by Aid to the Church in Need (ACN), an international Catholic charity that supports persecuted Christians.

The initiative, which takes place each year on October 7—the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary—invites children from schools, parishes, and families to pause and pray together for peace and unity. What began in 2005 in Caracas, Venezuela, has since grown into a worldwide movement reaching communities on every continent.

Inspired by a quote attributed to St. Padre Pio, who once said that “when one million children pray the Rosary, the world will change,” the campaign seeks to harness the “power of childlike faith.” Organizers believe that the simple and trusting prayers of children carry a special strength capable of touching hearts and transforming societies.

As part of the global campaign “A Million Children Praying the Rosary,” the Chattogram Catholic Archdiocese organized Rosary prayers across all its parishes and sub-parishes. The initiative united the faithful in a shared act of devotion and peace-building, joining millions of children and families around the world.

The participating parishes included Cathedral of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary, St. Joseph’s Quasi-Parish (Pahartali), Miriam Parish (Diang), Immaculate Conception Parish (Jamalkhan), Our Lady of Lourdes Parish (Sonapur, Noakhali), St. Joseph’s Quasi-Parish (Lakshmipur), St. Joseph’s Parish (Rangamati), Fatima Rani Parish (Bandarban), Shanti Raj Parish (Thanchi), Our Lady of Presentation Parish (Bolipara), Shanti Rani Parish (Alikadam), St. John the Apostle’s Parish (Khagrachari), and St. Peter’s Parish (Lama).

Around 2000 faithful consisting of children, families, priests, and religious nuns took part in the prayer with deep devotion, joining hearts and voices in praying the Rosary for peace, unity, and faith. The event reflected a beautiful expression of solidarity and communion among the faithful of Chattogram and beyond.

Across the archdiocese, parishes organized not only the Rosary but also various engaging activities such as catechism sessions, Rosary processions, painting, and group sharing. The children participated with great enthusiasm, joyfully experiencing the harmony of praying together with children around the world.

By participating in this worldwide movement of prayer and hope, the Catholic community in Chattogram reaffirmed its commitment to spiritual unity and peace, joining with believers from many nations to invoke God’s blessing upon the world.
